What is a SkySignet ring?
A SkySignet ring is a bespoke signet ring that maps the precise position of every planet at the moment of your birth. The face is a geocentric natal chart cast in relief in your chosen metal, showing the Sun, Moon, and visible planets as they appeared from your exact place of birth. The design is authored by artist Jesse Sky, calculated to the degree, and cast once. No two rings are the same. There is only one of you, and there is only one of these.
What if I don't know my exact birth time?
If your birth time is unknown, check the box in the commission wizard and a noon default will be used for chart calculation. Planetary positions will still be precise to within a degree for most planets. The angular houses of your chart will be approximate. Your certificate of provenance will note the approximate chart and noon default. A birth certificate or hospital record typically records the time if you want to retrieve it.
What is the difference between Western Tropical and Vedic Sidereal?
Both systems map the same sky from different reference frames. Western Tropical orients the zodiac to the seasons, placing Aries at the spring equinox. Vedic Sidereal orients the zodiac to the actual constellations, using the Lahiri ayanamsa to account for the precession of the equinoxes. The result is a shift of approximately 23 degrees for each planet. Most Western astrologers use the Tropical system. Jyotisha (Indian astrology) uses the Sidereal. Both are available and encoded with full astronomical precision.
What metals are available?
Eight metal options are available across four tiers. Bronze tier: Bronze, Oxidized Bronze. Silver tier: Sterling Silver, Palladium-Infused Silver, Oxidized Sterling. Gold tier: 14-karat Yellow Gold, 18-karat Yellow Gold. Platinum tier: Platinum. Prices begin at $950 for Bronze and increase with metal value and complexity of alloy.
What band textures are available?
Four textures are engraved in relief around the shank: Solid (the band as cast, unadorned), Dream Portal (a geometric mandala radiating from center), Moroccan Stars (an interlocking star grid), and Acanthus (a classical leaf scroll). The texture selection is made in the commission wizard.
How is the ring sized?
You select your US ring size in the commission wizard. If you are unsure of your size, any professional jeweler or jewelry shop can measure you in minutes at no charge. Ring fit is permanent, so we recommend a professional measurement.
How long does it take?
Four weeks from the approval of your digital proof. After your commission is received, you will receive a proof of your natal chart composition for review. You may request one revision at no charge before casting begins. Once approved, the ring is cast, finished, and delivered fully insured with signature required. You will be kept informed at every stage.
Is the ring made in America?
Yes. Every SkySignet ring is designed, cast, and finished in America under the direct supervision of artist Jesse Sky.
Can I give a SkySignet ring as a gift?
Yes. When commissioning a ring as a gift, enter the recipient's birth data in the wizard. You will need their date of birth, approximate birth time, and place of birth. If their birth time is unknown, use the noon default option. The confirmation email and certificate of provenance will reflect the recipient's astronomical data.
What is your revision and refund policy?
All sales are final. Before casting begins, you will receive a digital proof for approval and may request one revision at no charge. Once casting begins, no further changes are possible. If your ring arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we will remake it at no charge. See the full commission policy for details.
How do I care for my ring?
Bronze and silver rings develop a natural patina with wear. Bronze can be polished with a soft cloth or mild metal polish to restore brightness. Oxidized finishes should be cleaned gently without abrasives, which can strip the oxidation from the relief lines. Gold and platinum require minimal maintenance. Remove your ring before swimming in chlorinated water or applying lotions and chemicals. Engraved lines can be cleaned with a soft brush and warm soapy water.
